Born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, Jon attended Moravian Academy and Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, transferring his senior year to Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts. He then matriculated to Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont, where he majored in Political Science with a concentration in Education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.). While at Middlebury he was president of the local Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and an alpine ski instructor at the Bromley Ski Area and the Middlebury Snow Bowl.

 

The opportunity to work with his father, Cameron D. Warner, CLU, ChFC, occurred when Jon joined Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1983. In 1984 he transitioned to The Johnson Companies, located in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Jon became an employee benefits consultant while at Johnson, assisting medium and larger employers in the establishment of self insured health plans, life and disability insurance plans, Cafeteria Benefit Plans and 401(k) retirement savings plans. Johnson is nationally recognized as a primary innovator in the design and administration of 401(k) plans.
 
In 1989, Jon became a partner with Elite Benefits Corporation. A year later he accepted the position of Regional Vice President for EBP HealthPlans, a national third party administrator and stop loss insurance manager for self insured health plans. EBP HealthPlans merged with FIRST HEALTH Strategies in 1995, then the nation’s largest third party administrator of self insured health plans. Jon duties as a FIRST HEALTH Vice President included combining regional sales and account management functions for the company. 

 

On January 1, 1997 Jon started JP Warner Associates, Inc., providing insurance brokerage, medical stop loss and employee benefits consulting services. In July 2001, Warner Benefits, Inc. was formed in partnership with his brother Andrew F. S. Warner, CLU, ChFC, concentrating on financial advisory, retirement plans, executive benefits, individual life and disability insurance programs. Also in 2001, Andy and Jon formed Pierpont Slater Properties to purchase and develop commercial real estate. Their largest project to date is an 18,000 sq. ft. office building located in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.

 

The evolution of Consumer Driven Health Plans prompted Jon to acquire Human Resource Administrators, Inc. in April 2003. It is a Bethlehem, Pennsylvania based administrator of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA), self insured Dental and Vision plans, COBRA administration and benefits administration outsourcing services.

Jon authored an article on HMO legislation that was published in 1988, along with “From Managed Care to Financed Care”, published in 2002, which is on the syllabus at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business. A Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Fellow, Jon maintains the highest employee benefits designation one may earn from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists (ISCEBS). He is a past president of the Philadelphia Regional Chapter of ISCEBS.

 

Personal interests include coaching soccer for the Tredyffrin Easttown Township Youth Soccer Association (TEYSA) since 2002, along with acting as the director of Berwyn Paoli Tball in 2005. He has volunteered at his church in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and in the Pre-Jordan program with his wife and children. Jon has also enjoyed being an extraordinary minister of the Holy Eucharist. He has sung as second tenor in the Wayne Oratorio Society, and is an alumni interviewer for regional applicants to Middlebury College. He is also a new trustee for the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Fund.

 

A member of Saucon Valley Country Club since 1988, Jon has volunteered on its Golf & Green Committee and now serves on Saucon Valley’s membership committee. Jon has also been a member of Aronimink Golf Club since 2000.

 

Jon and his wife Vicki are parents of a eigth grade daughter Abby, a fifth grade son Joey and a third grade daughter Madeline. Family interests include music and singing, golf, skiing, swimming, tennis, soccer and lacrosse. Abby and Madeline are Girl Scouts and Joey is an advanced cadet in the Philadelphia Boys Choir.
